Alright, so I didn't blog yesterday and I feel bad but not that bad. :)
So I started this reading the bible in a year thing and it's going pretty well. I started Monday and just finished genesis 22. I know I know, how in the world am I going to get through the bible in a year from Genesis to Revelation without getting incredibly bored and quitting or being confused or freaking out because the old testament is kind of hard to read? Well, I have this really cool guide I got at the All Nations conference that is the bible in a year...in chronological order. Very cool, because it really makes the bible make more sense contextually, for example when you are reading Acts, when Paul visits a city then leaves the city, instead of just finishing Acts and then going to the next book, it will stop you and have you read the letter Paul wrote to the city and then go back and continue through Acts. Make sense? I'm really excited about it because this is so my personality. I want everything in order! Which is not always good, but in this case it works. If anyone is like, WOW that sounds awesome I want a copy, just let me know. It is a worksheet that I got so I can type it up.
So I ate crawfish tonight for the first time...pretty epic. Hopefully I will have some pics up soon from that we got some really good ones. It has been great so far meeting so many new people. such a challenge for me because although I'm pretty extroverted it is still difficult to jump in and introduce myself and ask questions and get conversations started. I don't know why we get that way sometimes and just clam up and lose all confidence in ourselves. Sort of cliche, but "with God on our side, who could be against us?" Just reminds me that I'm not here to impress anyone. I'm here to spread the Gospel and shine His light in the darkness. Me being shy is just pointless and something I know God is going to continually work on in my life, which is so great! Even though you can't feel that when you are going through it, when God brings you out of it into a new season and into a new you, it is just so beautiful!
Ok, goodnight, must go to bed! Tomorrow morning is a women's bible study and then off to my first time at the church here that a lot of Chi Alpha people attend called Glad Tidings or just GT.
Talk to y'all later,
Liz
